Aloha Hawaii Kai House District 17 Resident:

I hope this communication finds you and your ‘ohana in good health as we adjust our daily lives to the “new normal” conditions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.  As we make such adjustments to our daily routines, major events still go on and two such events are our 2020 primary and general elections scheduled for August 8, 2020 and November 3, 2020, respectively.

One major change for the 2020 elections as compared to previous elections is the implementation of voting by mail to comply with the law (Act 136, Session Laws of Hawaii 2019) requiring that elections in the State be conducted by mail commencing with the 2020 election cycle. A key security procedure in this new voting by mail process is the verification of a voter’s signature on their ballot return envelope.  In connection with the implementation of this election security feature, you should be receiving a mailing requesting a current sample of your signature.

More information about the signature requirement for the 2020 elections as well as other election related information is available by contacting the Office of Elections at (808) 453-8683 or at

As previously communicated, I am running for the State House of Representatives for District 17 as I believe, based on my experience in financial matters, that I can contribute towards ensuring that the State has the needed financial resources in these challenging times.
